National Events Month announces ‘Host’ Event Programme

The Liberal Democrats Conference, IP EXPO Europe, the Showman’s Show and the Association of Independent Festival Organisers Annual Congress will all be ‘host’ events supporting National Events Month in October.

The marketing campaign behind National Events Month will see October split up into four weeks, with the first looking at Conferences, Congresses & Large Meetings, and culminating in the Liberal Democrats Party Conference at the SECC in Glasgow.

The second week, which celebrates Exhibition and Experiential events, will include the IP EXPO Europe, where Tim Berners-Lee, will be delivering the opening keynote on 8th October at Excel London.

The last two weeks will look at Outdoor, Cultural, Musical and Sporting Events, and Corporate Hospitality, respectively, and will see the Association of Independent Festival Organisers Annual Congress take place in Cardiff, and the Showman’s Show in Newbury, as well as the second NFL fixture in London.

Each host event will hold a mini-reception as part of the wider event, which will acknowledge the quality of events across these sectors and throughout the United Kingdom. The campaign is also encouraging more events to register on nationaleventsmonth.co.uk and to use #NEMO to support the campaign.

Alistair Turner, Campaign Director of the Britain for Events campaign, commented: “We’re delighted to have these host events representing our four categories. We’ve got events taking place across the UK and in every sector of our industry, and the marketing campaign will reflect the quality and diversity of events that take place every day in Britain.”

The campaign also promises to release details of further events next week including the campaign’s celebration event and a parliamentary dinner.
