Centrally located, bordering College Green and adjacent to Bristol's magnificent 12th Century Cathedral, the beautiful crescent shaped Council House is situated close to extensive amenities and within easy walking distance of exciting leisure attractions. The Grade II listed building, which was opened by the Queen in 1956, has a license for civil wedding ceremonies and public entertainment. It offers a range of elegant and accessible function rooms with accommodation for a variety of events.
The interiors are magnificent. The Reception Hall, paved with black and white Italian marble is ideal for receptions or displays. The Lord Mayor's Reception Room, with it's English walnut panels and colourful frieze, is perfect for wedding ceremonies. The impressive, light and airy Conference Hall has a fine painted ceiling and walls carved with the names of all Bristol's Mayors since 1216. It is a memorable show case for larger functions.
