Description
Shortly after opening its doors in November 2002, the hotel won a variety of design awards, namely Best Commercial design at the Scottish Design Awards 2003, the Best Commercial Building – Irish Architecture Awards 2003, Best Bar Design – Theme Bar and Restaurant Awards Scotland 2003, Glasgow Institute of Architects Award 2003 and the Architectural Award Best New Hotel – European Hotel Design Awards 2003. Since 2003, the hotel has won a further fourteen awards, including Scottish Thistle Award for Hotel of the Year in 2005 and the HRS Hotel Excellence Award for Customer Service in 2008. The hotel has also retained its Gold Award with the Green Tourism Business Scheme since 2003. At the Scottish Hotels of the year awards 2008 the hotel won The Scottish Business Hotel of the Year 2008. At the HRS Excellence Awards 2008 the hotel received Excellent Customer Service award and short-listed for excellence in people and Excellent Social Responsibility.
