Description
The historic venue, built in 1792, was intended to become Leicester's first hotel, used to house the visitors to the Leicester races held at Victoria Park. Sadly the Hotel was never completed and the building was sold with the ground floor being used as a coffee house and the upper floors for banquets, wedding receptions and balls.
Now, The City Rooms has been carefully restored back to its former glory, with the addition of four boutique hotel suites. The City Rooms is now open as first intended, after more than 200 years in the making.
