Description

The Pear Tree at Purton, formerly the vicarage, is an elegant Cotswold stone hotel set in seven acres on the outskirts of the Saxon village of Purton, which nestles in the Vale of the White Horse between the Cotswolds and the Marlborough Downs. Just five miles from the Wiltshire town of Swindon, the hotel is within easy access of the M4 and is perfectly placed to visit numerous West Country attractions including the Cotswolds, Longleat, Blenheim Palace, the Georgian city of Bath and Stonehenge.

Meetings

Professional service, excellent food, stylish meeting rooms and above all flexibility are the hallmarks of a meeting at The Pear Tree at Purton. Although it is only ten minutes from Junction 16 of the M4 and Swindon, its peaceful setting is ideal for creative thought, decision making and lively discussion.

Weddings

Whether it is a small gathering for a few family and friends, an informal buffet or a full wedding breakfast, The Pear Tree at Purton is a perfect venue. Both the John Veysey Suite and the Library are licensed for wedding ceremonies. The Library can accommodate up to ten guests and the John Veysey Suite up to 50. Both the John Veysey Suite and the restaurant can accommodate up to 50 for a sit-down meal although we only host one wedding on one day. If the restaurant is chosen, it does need to be vacated by 5:30 pm. The Pear Tree is not suitable for evening receptions with discos, etc.

Restaurant

Head Chef Alan Postill specialises in modern English cooking using the very best of fresh ingredients and served in the elegant Conservatory Restaurant. His food has been the recipient of many awards, including two rosettes from the AA.
