The Wallace Collection presents Collecting History exhibition

The Wallace Collection is currently presenting Collecting History: The Founders of the Wallace Collection, an exhibition of archival material and works of art from the Hertford House Historic Collection.

This eclectic display, available to view until 15th February 2015, features prints, engravings, photographs, inventories, and more from throughout the history of the collection, much of which has never before been on public display.

The exhibition will examine how the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Marquess and Sir Richard Wallace,  the illegitimate son of the 4th Marquess, added to the Collection and shaped the remarkably eclectic Museum which exists today. The stories and sometimes scandalous lives  of the founders will also be explored through various mediums.

For Corporate clients entertaining at the Wallace Collection this exhibition provides a perfect snapshot into the lives of these fascinating individuals. For a limited period the historic venue is thrilled to announce that all Courtyard Receptions booked between now and January 2015 will include an exclusive Private View.
