Following on from the success of Subsea 10 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) this week, the centre is delighted to announce a number of Award Dinners confirmed for this year.
Subsea 10, the biggest annual subsea oil and gas showcase in Europe, took place on the 10th & 11th February and included a conference and exhibition as well as the Subsea UK Business Awards for over 700 delegates.
This awards dinner is just the first of many taking place at the centre this year. AECC has again been chosen as the venue for the Northern Star Business Awards 2010 which will take place on 22nd September. The prestigious event, now in its seventh year, is the flagship event of the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce and celebrates the achievements of businesses from across all sectors of the business community. The event hopes to attract more than 1000 attendees.
For the second year running, AECC will host the Scottish Offshore Achievement Awards 2010 on 25th March with over 450 attendees attending from the Oil & Gas sector. On 22nd April the centre will also be the venue for the Greatest Ever Scottish Team awards where the great and good of Scottish football will gather. The cHeRries Awards 2010 will also return to the AECC on 3rd June with 400 attendees to celebrate the successes and examples of excellence in the fields of Human Resources, Recruitment and Training in the North East of Scotland.
AECC Managing Director, Brian Horsburgh, said “I am delighted we have secured these awards dinners. To know that the companies choose to come back to AECC again and again proves the team can deliver great events consistently.”
Last year the centre hosted The UPprentice Challenge Awards Ceremony on 26th November for 300 guests. The reason behind the UPprentice Challenge was for teams to raise as much money as possible for Aberdeen based charity Clan. Their original target was £12,500.00 and by the end of the awards they raised £135,420.00, the biggest amount of money raised for Clan at a single event.
This month the AECC is the venue for the Wall of Death from 15th-17th and Ronan Keating on 24th, as well as the European Golf and Leisure show on the 27th & 28th February, while top musical acts including, Jools Holland, Peter Andre and JLS will also be making the trip to Aberdeen this year.
