Another record-breaking year for Nottingham Arena

Nottingham Arena has registered its seventh consecutive year of growth. The number of concerts at the "venue":http://www.venues.org.uk has increased by 16% in 2007 from January to December compared to the same time last year and this has led to an increase in footfall through the venue of 11%.

Enhancing artist and promoter experiences are key on Nottingham Arena’s agenda with the backstage area undergoing a radical makeover in the summer with over £90,000 spent on improving the star dressing rooms and catering area.

The Arena was also nominated for its first industry award since opening in 2000 after being shortlisted as ‘Favourite Venue’ at the TPI Awards.

An exclusive Members Club, launched in June as part of the online expansion, has seen rapid growth with over 69,000 members now signed up and delivering the mechanic for targeted marketing campaigns to support all the events at the "venue":http://www.venues.org.uk.

Geoff Huckstep, chief executive at Nottingham Arena, said: “It’s been another fantastic year of growth and this is shown in how successful we’ve been in attracting top-quality acts, including the likes of Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and the Foo Fighters.

“As we’re now attracting international stars, we thought it was time to upgrade the dressing room facilities to that of an international Arena, so we are now comparable with the best in the UK.”

Geoff continued: “We hope the revamped backstage area will make visiting the Arena an even better experience and with the likes of the Dalai Lama, Dolly Parton and Linkin Park performing in 2008, things already look promising for the future.”
