BIC venue secures 5 new events for 2010

Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) has secured a new event for 2010 to add to the four other clients it has added to its books this year.

The facility, one of the south coast's premier venues, will host the Unlock the Future Conference, as well as staging events for the British Council of Shopping Centre Managers, Bournemouth Ink, the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists and the Association of British Neurologists.

Together, these events will generate £2.25 million for Bournemouth's economy.

The British Council of Shopping Centres' two day event is expected to attract around 500 delegates and bring in roughly £300,000 for the local area.

"We have a nearly 70 per cent repeat business rate annually so to get these four new events this year is a real achievement by our sales team," commented Clive Tyers, head of conferences, exhibitions and events at BIC.

Last month, the venue announced that it had secured ten big events for the future which will generate an estimated £8 million for the local economy over the next seven years.
