Birmingham venue wins two major conferences

Birmingham venue, the International Convention Centre (ICC), has won two major international conferences which will bring more than £2 million to the region.

The European Peritoneal Dialysis Meeting is expected to bring 1,200 delegates to the city, while education body CASE Europe's event is expected to attract 800 people, reports the Birmingham Post.

ICC director of international sales Catherine Newhall-Caiger told the newspaper: "We are a venue with an extensive history of hosting events of the highest calibre, both from the UK and overseas and in the face of stiff competition, these two conference wins clearly demonstrate our reputation for being able to successfully host a diverse range of international events."

Margaret Sherry, managing director of In Conference, the organiser of the EuroPD meetings, told the news provider that the ICC is a great venue as it is accessible from both across the UK and internationally.

Earlier this month, organisers of the two-day Internet Retailing Expo praised the Birmingham NEC's good location, saying it is a big part of its attraction.
