The Moller Centre in Cambridge has beaten off strong competition to be named the UK's best training venue, it has been confirmed.
The corporate venue took the Training Venue of the Year prize at the recent World of Learning 2008 awards ceremony, held in conjunction with the Daily Mail and the British Institute of Learning & Development (BILD).
According to the judges, as well as ceremony host and comedian Marcus Brigstocke, the centre boasts one of the country's best-equipped learning and development teams, enabling it to fully meet the demands of its clients.
Announcing the award, Anthony Lishman, executive director of Conference Centres of Excellence and a member of the judging panel told Cambridge Network: "There is growing recognition within the training sector that specialist conference venues are best suited to optimising the effectiveness of training events.
"There can be no doubt that the Moller Centre is at the very forefront of its field, and the judging panel was thoroughly impressed."
At the same time, the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre has been named as Scotland's best corporate venue at the 19th Annual Scottish Council for Development & Industry Awards for Exports & Enterprise.
