De Vere Hotels Resorts & Venues is this week celebrating after winning a prestigious HBAA Award for Promoting Excellence within the Industry.
The awards, now in their third year, celebrate excellence and the promotion of best practice in the hotel booking agency sector. The award for Promoting Excellence within the Industry recognised De Vere Venues for delivering excellence to clients by means of their new initiative; their innovative agency quiz nights.
Launched earlier in the year the hotel group’s pub-quiz style nights run every quarter in eight locations around the UK and Scotland for up to 15 teams of agents.
Ian Jones, Director of Group Sales at De Vere Hotels Resorts & Venues comments: “The quizzes have allowed us to focus on developing a great relationship with the agents – and as such they have been hugely successful for De Vere as a business. On the back of the quizzes we’ve seen agency revenue grow substantially in 2010 and an increase in conversions from enquiries to confirmed events. We are delighted to have won this prestigious award and to be recognised among our peers as promoting excellence to those who matter the most – our clients”.
Judge and Editor of The Business Travel Magazine, Gill Upton adds: “The clear winner is De Vere for its clarity of strategy and methodology. The quiz nights gave the hotel company between four and six hours of interaction with its target audience of booking agents, as well as a phenomenal result that exceeded its goal”.
The HBAA Awards were presented on 8 September at the Holiday Inn Stratford on Avon. Finalists for the award for Promoting Excellence within the Industry included Ardencote Manor and Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa.
