Prestige Scotland, part of Sodexo UK and Ireland, won the best Business to Business Corporate Event award at the Scottish Event Awards for its running of hospitality services at The Open Championship at St Andrews this year.
Austin Tilsley, Prestige operations director; Kirsty Lamond, Prestige People assistant manager; Kerry Hill, Prestige event designer and Stephen Frost, Prestige executive chef.
In a second triumph for the company, the Gateway Centre at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, where Prestige Scotland provides catering, event and sales and marketing services, was named the Best Unusual Venue.
This year, The Open celebrated its 150th anniversary, and Prestige Scotland and parent company Sodexo Prestige had 800 staff working at the event for client, The R&A.
Speaking after the awards ceremony at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow on September 9, Prestige Scotland regional director Austin Tilsley said: "The Open Championship is truly one of the greatest sporting events in the world and it is a privilege for our team to be associated with such a high profile event.
"The R&A are a fantastic client to work with and they fully understand and appreciate the many challenges we face during the event. For our chefs, managers and staff this event gives our organisation the opportunity to display our full range of skills at the highest possible level."
Prestige Scotland has provided a range of services including catering and event management at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh for the past three years. Last year, the Gateway centre with its spectacular restaurant and Botanics Shop was opened, establishing it as one of the capital's most unique and unusual venues for corporate and private events.
Last year, the Scottish Government used the Gateway Centre to launch the International Year of Biodiversity.
Tilsley added: "Since winning the exclusive catering contract in 2007, The Royal Botanic Garden has changed dramatically and is without doubt now one of Edinburgh's most unique and unusual venues. This award is testament of the tremendous hard work carried out by both the Prestige Scotland on-site team and our client to transform the venue into a leading corporate and private event venue."
