International Convention Centre Birmingham to host Conservative Party Conference

The International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham is to welcome 14,000 delegates to the Conservative Party Conference across four days from 28th September to 1st October, with an estimated £17m to benefit the local economy.

The ICC has hosted four Conservative Party Conferences since 2008. The event later this month will be the final autumn party conference to take place before the 2015 General Election.

The conference was secured by Marketing Birmingham, Birmingham City Council and the NEC Group. Ian Taylor, commercial director at Marketing Birmingham, commented: "The Conservatives’ return to the city is a clear endorsement of the party’s confidence in our ability to deliver first-class events.

"The city attracted a record 34 million visitors last year, boosting the local economy by £5.34 billion.

"High-profile conferences bring immediate benefits for local hotels, venues and restaurants, continuing our work to raise Birmingham’s profile on a national and international stage."

The ICC is located in the center of Birmingham and offers ten halls and ten executive meeting rooms, with dedicated registration and foyer areas. Their professional customer service, advice and support in event management, logistics, catering, staging and AV technology provide all the elements key to delivering a superb conference, seminar, banquet or meeting.
