On Tuesday 10th May, The 4* Lingfield Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club, officially opened a year ago by Oscar winning actress Dame Judi Dench, celebrated its first Birthday. The £29 Million investment by racecourse owners Arena Leisure is already proving popular.
Staff from the hotel, golf club and racecourse gathered outside the main entrance to enjoy a glass of bubbly and slice of the chef’s specially baked cake to celebrate a successful first year.
Sean Quinney, General Manager of the Hotel raised a toast to the hotel and gave a short speech in which he commented:-
“It has been a very promising first year. I am pleased with where we are. We already have a good base of regular customers and although our target market – conference and business has been tough due to the economic climate, it is gaining momentum and we are attracting many repeat bookings. We have also gained good local support with many people and groups signing up to use the Cyprium Restaurant, Spa and/or golf course and club facilities on a regular basis.”
Sean continued, “I’d also like to thank everyone for their hard work over the past year and I look forward to continuing to build up the business with the team”.
The unique setting of the hotel directly overlooks the racecourse and part of the golf course with panoramic views across the far reaching countryside. The challenging championship golf course is very proud to be a chosen destination for a PGA EuroPro Tour in August this year.
