Excel London has scooped a top prize at the World Travel Awards' (WTA) Grand Final Gala ceremony, it has been announced.
The London venue was named as the world's best meeting and conference centre at the ceremony, which took place on November 7th.
Kevin Murphy, chief executive of Excel London, said he has always believed Excel was a world class venue.
"This fantastic award is testament to the continued hard work of our teams here and the continued investment in our facilities and infrastructure by our owners ADNEC [Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company]," he said.
He added that the £165 million International Convention Centre which was opened in May this year at Excel has delivered "a first class" centre for the UK and has enabled London to compete for international events.
The WTA 2010 final was held at another London venue, the Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel in Mayfair.
