Mercure announces two new London venues

The Quality Crown Paddington and Quality Crown Kensington are to be rebranded as Mercure hotels, it has been announced.

Last week, the company said the two London venues will join its extensive list of hotels in the capital, which already includes the Mercure London City Bankside and the Mercure London Bloomsbury.

The venues will be rebranded in March and June and called Mercure London Paddington and the Mercure London Kensington, respectively.

Mercure also announced that it is introducing a new Nottingham venue, which will be called the Mercure Nottingham Lace Market.

Jean-Jacques Dessors, Accor UK and Ireland chief operating officer, said: "The agreements demonstrate Accor's ability to choose a strong franchisee partners … to grow the Mercure brand in the UK market."

Mercure is hoping to have more than 300 hotels in the UK by 2015, offering a range of accommodation, plus meetings and events facilities.

Back in January, the hotel chain announced that it has signed ten new hotels in the UK, including the Mercure Chester North Hotel and the Mercure Swindon East Hotel & Spa.
