The MPI UK & Ireland chapter is inviting proposals to deliver content for its new Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) boot camp event, due to take place in September. The deadline for all proposals to support the delivery of the programme is 30th June.
The CMP programme, which was launched by the Convention Industry Council, recognises industry professionals who pursue continuing education and increase their industry involvement. The requirements for certification are based on professional experience as well as a minimum of 25 continuing hours of education and a written examination.
Liz Rice, VP of certification and director at Metro Broadcast, commented: "The UK events industry has for some time lacked a credible programme of professional education for experienced practitioners.
"Our launch of a series of CMP education bootcamps starting in September 2014 will provide an opportunity for event specialists to gain professional recognition alongside their industry peers."
More details on the CMP and the bootcamps are to be announced at The Meetings Show which is taking place from 8th to 10th July at Olympia London.
