Dominic Stokes will take on the role of Sheffield International Venues' (SIV) new general manager, it has been announced.
Having previously worked at City Hall for five years, Mr Stokes has lots of experience with Sheffield venues.
In his new role, he will concentrate on promoting Sheffield venues, including City Hall, Sheffield Ponds Forge and Don Valley Stadium.
Mr Stoke said events play a key role in the local economy, noting that over the last financial year, SIV was "responsible for fuelling an estimated £12 million back into the South Yorkshire's business economy".
"My new role will be to continue to attract key business to Sheffield and maximise every opportunity to showcase the city and its venues as a top destination," he added.
The SIV also represents the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, Motorpoint Arena, Hillsborough Leisure Centre, Ice Sheffield and a number of golf courses.
