Norwich events venue reveals packed New Year schedule

Details have been released of the assortment of shows and exhibitions that will be packed into the New Year schedule at the Norwich Arts Centre, reports edp24.co.uk.

The Norfolk events venue has built a reputation on showcasing outstanding musical and comedic talent, frequently booking up-and-coming stars - the venue booked Gabrielle Cilmi before she began to take the UK charts by storm. The New Year season offers a vibrant mix of jazz, hip hop and folk music, eagerly throwing a variety of musical genres into the mix.

Acts such as hip hop group Ugly Duckling make their centre debut in mid-January, while the Russian gipsy trio Koshka will be performing next week. Also debuting, this time in February, will be the Salt Box Comedy Club, a Norwich-based comedy group who come to the centre for the first time.

In addition, from January 9th Mobile will showcase explorations of images caught on a mobile phone and on January 13th Shoestring Shorts will explore the art of images captured on a variety of low-cost equipment.

In other news, Norwich Evening News 24 reports that around 500 people gathered to watch Norwich's first ever Santa Run over the weekend.
