Twelve months of hard fought competition culminated at the final of the De Vere UK Agency Pub Quiz last week at Wokefield Park. Emerging victorious as Britain’s Brightest Agency were ‘The Secret Seven’ team from Portman Travel, whilst Sian Sayward took the on line honours as the quiz simultaneously took place live and through the brand’s Facebook page.
The event bought together ten of the brightest agency brands, including NYS, David Palmer Travel, Expotel, DRP, AMEX, HRG and BSI, each earning their place in the final following four regional heats across eight UK regions throughout 2010.
Each finalist team came to the event armed with their suitcases as the winners on the night not only took home the coveted De Vere UK Agency Pub Quiz trophy, but were also whisked away for a VIP trip to London, including dinner and accommodation at Devonport House, Ice Skating at Canary Wharf, shopping vouchers, and a box at the ‘We Will Rock You’ show in the West End. Furthermore each of the winners received a free weekend at the company’s Slayley Hall property, whilst the runners up were treated to a big party at Wokefield Park, going on until the early hours of the morning.
There was additional excitement on the night as the business took the groundbreaking decision to run the Pub Quiz concurrently online through the De Vere Venues Special Agents Facebook page. Over 40 bookers took part in the completion which saw Sian Sayward from Inntel, win an all expenses paid trip to De Vere Cameron House in Scotland, including flights and car hire.
“This is fast becoming a key industry event, everyone had a great time and I think the agency guys relish a bit of friendly competition,” commented Ian Jones, Director of Group Sales, De Vere. “The online aspects of the event really added to the interest and allowed those that couldn’t attend the chance to take part.”
