Premier Inn to open new Newmarket venue

Popular hotel chain Premier Inn is set to open a new hotel in Suffolk over the coming months.

The 75-bedroom Newmarket venue will lead to the creation of 56 jobs when it opens in May.

According to the Newmarket Journal, the hotel represents a £1.8 million investment by Premier Inn's parent company Whitbread.

It will feature a Table Table restaurant called the Ormonde – a name suggested by a reader of the newspaper.

Steve Conway, head of marketing at Premier Inn, said: "We are delighted to bring a new hotel and restaurant to Newmarket and we can't wait to welcome our guests to the Ormonde and Premier Inn in May."

The news comes just days after Hotel Designs reported that work has started to turn an existing building in Coventry into a new Premier Inn.

Costing £6 million, the new Coventry venue will see part of the former Coventry Technical College complex transformed into a 100-bed hotel.
