Following the recent news that teachers across England and Wales have voted for strike action on Thursday 30 June Stoke Mandeville Stadium on Guttmann Road in Aylesbury is encouraging families to make the most of the extra day off and come along for a dip in their local pool.
On Thursday 30 June all children under 8 will be able to swim completely free of charge*. Tara Stroud, head of swimming and children’s activities for Stoke Mandeville Stadium said: "Although it’s unfortunate that many schools will be closed on Thursday, we wanted to give parents the opportunity to take their children swimming free of charge in a bid to take advantage of a day off work. For those parents who don’t have to take the day off – it’s a good excuse to come and have a dip with us. Swimming or just splashing and playing in your local pool are great activities that the whole family can enjoy and we hope to see as many families as possible next Thursday."
*All children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
