Visitor numbers up 27% for The Meetings Show

The Meetings Show, a major event for the UK inbound and outbound meetings industry which took place 8-10 July at Olympia, London, has reported a 27 per cent increase (unaudited) in visitor numbers*.

According to the organisers Centaur Media, the show welcomed 3,154 unique visitors to the event, a figure which includes 721 hosted buyers and 2,433 trade visitors. Including exhibitors, 4,626 meetings industry professionals attended the show.

Steve Knight, The Meetings Show’s Event Director, also noted that the show was 20 per cent bigger in size than the 2013 edition and said: "Comments from exhibitors and visitors alike confirm that the event is a success."

Rachel Mcguickin, Director of Business Tourism at Visit Belfast, commented: "Visit Belfast decided to increase our presence at The Meetings Show 2014. Our stand, which included half a dozen partners, was packed throughout the event. We saw a wide variety of hosted buyers and walk on visitors, all of which were interested in our offering. In addition to those seeking to learn about Belfast, many visitors had specific business to place, including RFPs and we expect a significant return on our investment."
