Wimbledon fever hits Stoke Mandeville Stadium

In celebration of the outstanding achievement by Andy Murray, Buckinghamshire venues, Stoke Mandeville Stadium and Aylesbury Tennis Club, are swinging into the tennis season with free sessions this summer for all ages and abilities.

The new adult sessions will begin on Wednesday 10th July at 8pm at Stoke Mandeville Stadium and the children's tennis camps and sessions will be available over the summer holidays from 29th July at Aylesbury Tennis Club for all members of the local community who have been inspired by Murray this year. Both adults and children will receive their first session for free.

Ian Seabrook, Business Development and Marketing Manager at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, commented: “Over the past year we have all witnessed how influential current sporting events can be on the public. With Wimbledon season upon us once again, we are urging people to get involved with their local community and have fun playing tennis this summer. All of the sessions are led by fully qualified LTA coaches and are designed to allow people to play to the best of their own ability whilst having fun and improving their own skills.”

Nina Bridge, Tennis Development Officer for the LTA at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, commented: “This is such an exciting time for tennis with Wimbledon in full swing and so many people wanting to pick up a racket and get involved. The sessions at Stoke Mandeville Stadium are great at just £4 a session and led by a fantastic coach from Aylesbury Tennis Club.”

The sessions are fun and friendly and are suitable for all abilities from beginners to intermediates. The first session is free of charge and then £4 onwards.
