Venue at a glance

York Conferences and Events manages venue hire across the University of York’s campus and York city centre, including The Guildhall on Coney Street and Central Hall on the university’s West Campus. It offers more than 200 venues for conferences, exhibitions, training days, meetings and weddings, with on-site catering across its spaces.

Spaces and capacities

• Central Hall — 1,028 tiered lecture theatre or cabaret.
• Main Hall (The Guildhall) — 270 standing.
• Council Chamber (The Guildhall) — 54 fixed seating; 41 fixed seating in the viewing gallery.
• Committee Room One (The Guildhall) — 16 boardroom.

Facilities

• On-site catering, with dietary requirements catered for.
• The Guildhall’s catering is available for up to 120 guests.
• More than 900 bedrooms on campus during summer vacation.
• On-campus parking at Central Hall; no on-site parking at The Guildhall.

The mix of a large-capacity auditorium, city centre halls and smaller boardroom-style rooms makes York Conferences suited to large conferences as well as smaller meetings and training days.
