A beautiful historic waterside building on two floors in a peaceful, attractive setting that is just a 5-minute walk from King's Cross station. We host (1) evening business and private dinners, receptions, and parties; (2) meetings, confereces, etc. on Mondays, evenings, and at breakfast-time for up to 150; (3) small meetings at any time, from £95 plus VAT (room rate).

Description

Hold your event against a backdrop of colourful heritage from the canal age. The museum is in a quiet location beside Battlebridge Basin, a surprising urban beauty spot near St. Pancras and King's Cross. We have our own mooring, so you can arrive by boat, and we are also one of London's most connected venues by train, with King's Cross, Euston, and St. Pancras International all within walking distance.

There are main galleries on two floors and a smaller meeting room on the first floor. The ground floor gallery is ideal for receiving guests and serving refreshments in impressive surroundings. The first floor offers a large space with a splendid victorian timber roof for a presentation, conference, dinner, or party. You are free to choose your own outside caterers for drinks, snacks or a lavish meal.There is access to the canalside from the ground floor.

The large galleries are NOT AVAILABLE daytimes Tuesdays to Sundays. They can be hired on most Mondays all day, and before 1000 and after 1630 most other days. PLEASE READ about AVAILABILITY below for more details and capacity.

CORPORATE ENTERTAINING

A charming, historic, waterside venue, just 10 minutes' walk from St. Pancras International station, with King's Cross, Euston, and numerous Underground routes all within a short walk: that's what's on offer for your evening reception, launch, or dinner. Guests can go home the same night to Paris, Bruxelles, Leeds, Brighton, Manchester and many more places with just a short walk to the station. You can even add a canal cruise or dinner cruise into your plans.

CONFERENCES AND BUSINESS MEETINGS

We offer an attractive unusual venue with a great track record for your meeting, conference, training day, or seminar. (Important - see below for availability) The peaceful waterside location a can contribute to the success of your day. Our location has few rivals for convenient rail travel to Paris, Bruxelles, and many parts of England. We understand the needs of our business clients and our experience will help you plan a flawless corporate event.

The ground floor can be used for coffee/drinks on arrival, for a buffet lunch, afternoon tea, drinks or supper after a meeting, and as a "breakout" area for smaller groups to meet. The museum's conference room can be used as a small seminar room. The first floor gallery seats up to 150 people theatre style, up to 80 cabaret style, or up to 30 boardroom style, for your Monday conference, breakfast meeting, or evening meeting. We have a good range of audio-visual equipment available.

The small conference room can also be booked for storage purposes before or after the event for the convenience of having materials or equipment delivered beforehand, by arrangement with us, and collected afterwards.

You can arrive by boat for an extra special touch. Even if a cruise won't fit into your schedule, the attractive, tranquil urban beauty spot that is Battlebridge Basin is a great setting. Choose a place to celebrate your special occasion which will be interesting for your guests, and memorable for life.

OUR LOVELY BUILDING

The museum building has character in abundance. It was built as an ice warehouse for Carlo Gatti, a celebrated ice merchant and restaurant owner, who also poularised ice cream. One of the Victorian ice wells which are beneath the floor can be viewed through an opening. The charm of the building and its setting appeal to people of all ages and from all backgrounds. Events can be as formal or informal as you want to make them and there is scope for you to create a theme reflecting your business. The decor is brick industrial. The exhibitions add colour and charm. The facilities are very modern and of a high standard

The venue offers excellent access for people with disabilities and we are a member of Green Tourism for London, so we try to ensure that all functions are as environmentally friendly as possible.

Special lighting arrangements can dramatically highlight the beautiful features of the Victorian building.

AVAILABILITY AND CAPACITY - PLEASE READ!

It is great to hold your event in a museum - so much more interesting than other venues! But it also means we are not able to host any event at any time so please read this and then get in touch if we can host your event.

The small conference room is available any time. Capacity 20 theatre style, 12 boardroom or cabaret style, 14 with chairs in a circle.

Larger events take place in the galleries which are available all day on Mondays only, and after 1630 most other days. They are also available for breakfast meetings ending by 1000 any day. Capacity 200 standing, 150 seated theatre style, 120 for a meal, or 60 for a cabaret style conference (can be more if delegates sit all around the tables). Latest finish is 2300, or 0100 when the following morning is a Saturday Sunday or public holiday. Events with loud music are limited. The museum's website lists available dates.
