In 2004 the Prince of Wales Theatre re-opened, after undergoing a major £8 million refurbishment. By restoring the building to its original Art Deco splendour, the theatre’s owner, Sir Cameron Mackintosh, has reintroduced period glamour to the venue. Light, spacious, foyer and entertaining spaces were created, new staircases were put in to improve flow throughout the building and a lift installed to allow wheelchair access to the Piano and Delfont Rooms.
There are seven areas within the theatre, including the auditorium, now available for hire outside performance times. The Prince of Wales is fully licensed for weddings with associated reception space on four levels for up to 500 people.
