AEV reports strong results at 10th AGM

Earls Court and Olympia Managing Director Nigel Nathan delivered his Chairman's report to the Association of Event Venues (AEV) at the 10th AGM, held at the International Centre Telford.

Nathan claimed that it had been “a very strong 12 months for the association,” and that they were in “great shape financially and great shape with membership engagement and interaction”. He also announced the establishment of a new Event Managers Working Group and details about the increased adoption of the association’s eGuide.

A cross association working group operating with a new independent research partner would be a key focus for the AEV over the next 12 months, he added.

AEV Treasurer and Excel London Chairman Kevin Murphy reported "another strong financial year for the association”.

Murphy did not stand for re-election, however, unlike board members Graham Stephenson (Business Design Centre), Kathryn James (NEC) and Rebecca Kane (The O2) who were all also required to retire their positions according to the association’s constitution. All three were re-elected unanimously in addition to new board members Jeremy Rees (Excel London) and Dominic Fleming (Stadium MK).
