Birmingham venue employees join together for charity endeavour

A group of employees from the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Group have joined forces to raise money for a cancer charity.

The 11-strong team, called the Cat's Whiskers, from the Birmingham venue grew moustaches during November as part of the Movember event in a bid to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Charity.

Cat's Whiskers team member Adam Lloyd, said: "The whole concept of Movember is really the same as if you commit to run or walk a certain distance and receive sponsorship. This is a great campaign and a lot of fun and goes a long way to highlighting men's health charities."

He admitted that he got some strange looks for his eye-catching moustache but was happy to grow his facial hair for a good cause.

Earlier this month, the Birmingham venue announced that the inaugural cruise event to be held at the NEC, Cruise 2010, had attracted more than 14,000 visitors over the two days it was held.
