Lenny Henry opens Premier Inn's Stratford-upon-Avon venue

Premier Inn's 600th hotel has been officially opened by comedian Lenny Henry.

The British funny man unveiled the new Stratford-upon-Avon venue, which is located near to a number of historical sites, earlier this month.

Henry said he was delighted to open the venue, adding that he has been travelling around the UK on his current comedy tour and has stayed at a number of Premier Inns along the way.

"I look forward to adding Stratford-upon-Avon to my list," he said.

Shakespeare's Birthplace and Anne Hathaway's cottage are just a five-minute walk from the new 87-bedroom hotel.

Each room comes with an en-suite bathroom, king-size bed, TV, tea and coffee-making facilities and a desk area, while the venue also includes a contemporary restaurant and bar.

Premier Inn has unveiled a number of new hotels over the last few months, including its new Edinburgh venue, called Edinburgh Airport (Newbridge), and its new Yorkshire venue, Huddersfield Central.
