SECC chosen to host Summer Eventia in 2010

Glasgow's Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) has been chosen as the host for the Eventia summer conference in 2010.

The official trade body of the events and live marketing industry has selected the SECC for its three-day convention next July, which is expected to attract around 350 delegates.

"I've long since been an admirer of Summer Eventia having attended a few of them myself so naturally I am delighted that the SECC will to be the home of Summer Eventia 2010," said Ben Goedegebuure, director of sales at the conference centre.

He added that the SECC team is looking forward to showing the delegates "some great Scottish hospitality".

The venue has already secured the European Association for Palliative Care conference for June next year and the World Parkinson Congress, which is expected to bring 4,000 visitors to Glasgow in September and October.

Meanwhile, this year's Summer Eventia was held last week at the Holiday Inn Brighton Seafront, bringing 220 visitors to the coastal resort.
