RSA House reports 30% increase in summer bookings

Westminster event venue RSA House, home of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce, has reported a 30% increase in summer event bookings compared to figures for the same period in 2013.

The venue has also seen an increase in enquiries for sports related summer events. On average the RSA events team is receiving around 15 telephone calls per week from organisers requiring the screening of sports matches including football, tennis, golf and motor car racing.

Tim Barrett-Jolley, sales and marketing manager at RSA House, commented: “We are witnessing great demand for summer events and hospitality with a strong emphasis on the screening of sports matches, particularly the World Cup. We have received bookings and enquiries for imminent sports tournaments including events with Wimbledon screenings.”

RSA House hosted an afternoon conference utilising the Durham Street Auditorium for Heartwood Investment Management on 17th June. A summer party followed later in the Vaults with the World Cup Brazil v Mexico game streamed onto a large plasma screen. Brazilian flags decorated the event space with South American beers and traditional dishes served including Brazilian cod fish fritters, empanadas of spicy beef and chicken mole and corn toacos filled with spicy pulled pork or refried beans and guacamole.

Frances Crozier, intermediary support associate at Heartwood, said of the successful event: “RSA House exceeded my expectations and provided a fantastic space to host both our conference and evening summer social. There is great buzz around the World Cup and we enjoyed all the action with authentic South American food and beer adding to the whole experience.”

World Cup fever has seen more event organisers opt for food and beverages of the host country. RSA has devised a menu of traditionally inspired street food and bowl food options based on customary starters and mains. Contemporary British and fusion menus are available for forthcoming sports tournaments.

RSA House offers Georgian grandeur with contemporary style, boasting 13 event spaces combining period features, contemporary design and advanced technology. The venue can cater for large events for 200 and intimate events for between 14 and 50 guests. A short walk from the River Thames, Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square, the venue offers an unrivalled location in the heart of London.
