Central Hall Westminster grows in-house expertise

Central Hall Westminster, the largest central London Conference & Events Centre, sees staff growing technical expertise to maintain the venue’s pledge for outstanding customer service. Kim Carrington, IT Manager at Central Hall successfully completed a series of technical training courses, accredited by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).

The week long course and exams lead to a vendor-neutral certification aimed to test technical understanding of computer and network technology. It strengthens competence in areas such as installation, configuration, media and topologies as well as management and network security. The CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification is a recognised technical prerequisite for IT technicians and an industry standard for companies such as Dell, HP or Xerox.

The Managing Director at Central Hall, Paul Southern, marks: ’’The growth of the events industry is in innovation and flexibility which requires our staff to be on top of the latest trends. Continuous learning and development is an integral part of my management responsibility here at Central Hall and to the benefit of our clients.’’

Kim Carrington, IT Manager at Central Hall, commented :’’The course provided me with the technical know-how to be even more efficient running the day to day IT operations of a building this size. This allows me to put more time into new innovations, large scale technical events, customer service and deal with growing demand from the growing number of IT savvy visitors. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of IT and I also benefit from the growing list of IT based events we are hosting here at Central Hall Westminster’’.
