Central Hall Westminster increases turnover by over 20% in 2012

Central Hall Westminster, the largest Conference Centre in Central London, increased its turnover by over 20% in the year ending August 31st2012. Revenue grew from £4.4m to over £5.3m over the 12 month period buoyed by a number of large overseas conference and Award ceremonies. The impressive figures come in the year in which the venue reaches its centenary, also marked with a successful rebranding for the events market.

Paul Southern, Managing Director of Central Hall Westminster commented: “This outstanding result was achieved despite Central Hall Westminster not hosting any of the large scale events surrounding the 2012 Olympics. I am very proud of the way the team has adapted to the very tough market conditions. We work in a fabulous building and they have had to be flexible and accommodating whilst still delivering top class events.”

Central Hall Westminster has hosted an array of high profile events in 2012. One of the largest, internationally acclaimed, was the Laureus World Sport Awards Ceremony, televised globally and attracted prestigious guests from the sports, entertainment and fashion world. Tennis ace Novak Djokovic received the Sportsman of the Year award from jury members Sebastian Coe and Boris Becker. The evening was hosted by Clive Owen, Bar Rafaeli and other prominent presenters.
