Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attend University of St Andrews Charity at Middle Temple
21st November 2012
Middle Temple welcomed back the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for their second visit to Middle Temple this year.
Their Royal highnesses attended a charity dinner on the 8th November 2012 in the stunning Middle Temple Hall, which had been organised in support of the University of St Andrews 600th Anniversary Campaign which raises funds for scholarships.
The Duke who met his wife Catherine while studying at St Andrews in 2001 addressed students, lecturers and guests saying: "Tonight is very special for Catherine and me. It brings together two institutions that are dear to us: our alma mater, St Andrews University, and Middle Temple, our hosts here tonight. Both are world-renowned. Both are roughly of the same venerable age. We are proud to be so closely associated with them."
The private Gala dinner raised over £300,000 for the scholarship fund, which supports gifted students who would otherwise not be able to study at St Andrews.
