Essex Brothers’ Ship set to feature on TV with A-List Hollywood Celebrities at Cannes Film Festival

London, 14th May 2008. Harmony II, one of the world’s top 100 privately owned mega-yachts is set to feature with the Hollywood elite at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Chosen by Channel 4 as a location, the T4 Presenter Steve Jones will film on board as part of two days of coverage of the world famous event. The programme will feature interviews with Dustin Hoffman, Jack Black and Harrison Ford and will be aired on Channel 4 on 24th and 25th May.

The mega-yacht is owned by two Essex (Dunmow) based businessmen, Alan and Martin Pedley, who bought her as a wreck. Local workers spent 250,000 man hours re-building her over six years. She has been designed as an exclusive corporate hospitality venue and started her world tour this year with a prestigious mooring at London’s Canary Wharf and the O2 arena. She will return to London in October 2008.

Harmony II’s interior showcases the best of British design. She is fitted with bespoke furniture, carpets and fabrics – all manufactured in the UK.

Weighing in at 600 tonnes, Harmony II is over 57m long, can reach 12 knots and accommodate up to 150 guests.

Commenting on the yacht’s celebrity booking, the owner Martin Pedley said “I am delighted that Channel 4 has chosen Harmony II to host its interviews. We have also been approached by a Hollywood film company to film her on location in Ireland. We hope to replicate our success with some more celebrity bookings for the Monaco Grand Prix.”
