Harrogate venues 'lending a hand after fire closure'

A collection of Harrogate venues and associations are working together to ensure the town's events industry is not damaged by a recent fire at the Majestic Hotel.

Harrogate International Centre and Destination Harrogate, an association of the town's 12 leading hotels, have pulled together to ensure event business remained in the Yorkshire location.

Harrogate International Centre's deputy director Simon Kent, said: "After such a tragic fire, it was imperative for Harrogate to pull together as a community and for all pre-booked and planned events to go ahead. Event business is exceptionally important to Harrogate and our immediate focus was to ensure business as usual."

The venues have been able to accommodate several of the events planned for the Majestic at no extra charge to the organisers.

Earlier this month, it was announced that the Harrogate Flooring Show would take place in the Yorkshire town in September and will include a Sunday trading day.ADNFCR-1752-ID-19861131-ADNFCR
