Publisher and event organiser Mash Media has today (20 September) announced the official acquisition of the International Confex exhibition from UBM Live.
The show, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2013, joins the Event Production Show in Mash Media’s live events portfolio.
Mash Media MD Julian Agostini said: “I am delighted to officially welcome such a well-loved event as International Confex into the Mash stable.
“I have been an admirer of the show for many years and this is an exciting and significant acquisition for the company.
“We are relishing the challenge of continuing UBM’s good work by making International Confex the essential exhibition for the meetings and events industry.
“Inevitably, a deal like this attracts speculation and there has been some inaccurate reporting. The facts and implications of the deal will be announced via Mash Media first, and there are several to follow in the coming weeks and months.”
The acquisition will be Mash Media's second in two years, following the purchase of The Event Production Show from Ocean Media Group, alongside the Event Production Awards, in June 2012.
Mash Media publishes leading titles for the meetings, exhibition and live events industries, including Conference News and Exhibition News. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
