Kia Oval revamps Jardine Suite in on-going development program

The home of Surrey County Cricket Club and first-class Central London event venue, Kia Oval, has re-opened the Jardine Suite after a £200,000 revamp.

As part of an on-going development program the new-look Jardine suite, formerly The Lambeth Hall, has been transformed from a functional stand concourse, to a luxurious 540m2 conference and events suite. This latest development allows Kia Oval to provide improved facilities to meet the growing demand for conferences, exhibition and events space in London.

Located on the ground level of the Kia Oval, and with easy access for production teams for large scale event set up, the Jardine Suite offers un-obscured conference and function space with two dedicated bar areas.

With a capacity of up to 650 guests, the Jardine Suite also offers the option for theatre style events, and can be easily equipped with technology to host high-specification digital presentation and AV equipment. A state of the art air conditioning unit has also been installed, to make the room an all season venue.

The refurbishments also include new flooring, a new lighting rig which will enable temporary lighting systems for events to be installed, as well as revamped and neutralised décor. These changes have been thoughtfully considered to allow clients to create the ambiance they require quickly and easily, whilst offering a more comfortable and relaxed environment.

Charlie Hodgson, Commercial Director at the Kia Oval, commented: “To add the Jardine Suite to our already varied conference facilities portfolio at the Kia Oval allows us to enter a new market for larger banqueting and entertainment events. Our conference and events business has been growing rapidly over the last 12-18 months, and as a result we have had capacity issues on a regular basis. The Jardine suite not only gives us much needed space, it also opens up a new marketplace and underlines the Kia Oval’s status as one of the capital’s leading venues.”

The Jardine Suite conversion is the latest development in an ongoing program of work being carried out by the Kia Oval. In the last three years the Kia Oval has invested over £2.5m in its facilities which includes, a £250,000 development of the Corinthian Roof Terrace, a joint venture between The Kia Oval and Compass Group UK & Ireland in 2013, giving one of the ground’s most spectacular views some superb new modern facilities, in addition to a £2m revamp of the historic Members’ Pavilion in 2012.

The Kia Oval hosts both international and domestic cricket matches but is justifiably popular for its range of excellent event facilities. The venue is conveniently located in central London, just a mile from Westminster and two stops on the tube from Waterloo Station near Vauxhall rail and tube station and Oval tube. There are also onsite parking facilities and good bus links.
