Lindley Venue Catering Awarded Gloucestershire CCC Catering Contract

Lindley Venue Catering, the specialist sports stadia catering division of The Lindley Group, has been awarded a full service catering contract by Gloucestershire County Cricket Club for the 2012 cricket season.

From this month (April), Lindley Venue Catering will assume responsibility for managing all of the match-day and non match-day catering at the club’s Nevil Road Ground. Lindley's remit will also extend to providing sales and marketing support to assist Gloucestershire CCC in attracting non match-day conference and events business to the prestigious county ground.

Gloucestershire CCC has awarded the single season contract to Lindley Venue Catering pending the club’s planning application to expand the capacity and upgrade facilities at the ground which has been hosting one day international matches since 1999. The club is currently seeking to increase the match-day capacity of the ground to 17,500, install a new media centre and enhance the business centre and conference suites.

The contract win comes within weeks of Essex Cricket extending its contract with Lindley Venue Catering. The caterer is already well established in the local area where it also manages the catering at Bristol City FC’s Ashton Gate Stadium and at Northern Racing’s Bath Racecourse.

Adam Elliott, the Lindley Group´s Chief Executive Officer, says: “This appointment gives us a great opportunity to work with Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and demonstrate our capabilities at a pivotal stage in their plans to develop the catering, conference and events services at Nevil Road.

“Over the coming season we aim to introduce a number of initiatives to enhance the match-day catering experience for cricket fans, and we will also be working closely with the team at Gloucestershire CCC to maximise the revenue potential of the existing facilities at the ground, whilst providing guidance and input into their plans to develop the site.”

Tim Davies, Gloucestershire CCC’s Commercial Director, adds: “Whilst we are awaiting the outcome of the planning application for Nevil Road we are in a transitional period, and we wanted to take this opportunity to work with a catering partner who could offer us support and guidance on both a strategic and creative level in our ambition to improve and extend our catering and hospitality services.

“Lindley Venue Catering has a proven track record in being able to provide high quality food and efficient service within a high volume professional sports environment, and we are confident that we will benefit from their experience and expertise in working with other sports venues.”
