Liverpool venues gearing up for boating event

Event organisers of the Liverpool Boat Show are joining forces with the Tourist Board for Liverpool City Region (TMP) to launch a major marketing campaign for the northern city and the show.

Under the terms of the agreement, TMP and Marine Industry Events will promote Liverpool venues, plus the city and its offerings, including the boating event, both internationally and in home markets.

TMP chief executive Lorraine Rogers said the Liverpool Boat Show has the potential to be a major event in the UK.

"It makes sense to pool resources with partners and afford a bigger and better campaign to promote the event and the city region," she added.

The show, which will feature hundreds of super yachts, power boats and historic ships, is set to take place between April 29th and May 8th.

Hotels in the city have already indicated high demand, with the Liverpool venues reporting the greatest number of advanced bookings ever for that period.

The Sceptre, which was built in 1958 by a syndicate from the Royal Yacht Squadron, is one of the yachts which will appear at the show.
