Leading figures from the UK's boating community have decided which Liverpool venues will host the city's inaugural boat show in 2011.
The event will be held at the historic Albert Dock, right in the heart of the city.
Over 130 prospective marine industry exhibitors visited Liverpool today to learn more about the show at a launch event at the Maritime Museum.
Among the attendees was round-the-world yachtsman Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, who is chairman of the steering committee for the show.
He commented: "The Liverpool Boat Show will be staged in the very heart of Liverpool, in the magnificent surroundings of the Albert, Salthouse and Canning Docks - the largest collection of grade-one listed buildings in Britain."
Sir Robin added that the waterfront is one of the most visually stunning in the world.
Earlier this week, the Liverpool Echo praised the Contemporary Urban Centre in the city as the ideal place for many different kinds of events.
