London & Partners plan to build on the success of London Technology Week

Zanine Adams, Head of Events & Business Development UK for London & Partners, has revealed that the convention bureau is to curate its own calendar of events.

Speaking at The Meetings Show Zanine explained that the capital aims to build on the success of the first ever London Technology Week last month:  “In London our focus is not only on attracting events to the capital, it’s about working with partners and stakeholders to cultivate new experiences and events. With London Technology Week we saw a unique opportunity to amplify the expertise and activities already happening in the city and build a bigger, more impactful event.”

London & Partners developed London Technology Week in collaboration with the event’s organisers UBM Live and founding partners Excel London and Tech London Advocates.

The event was comprised of more than 200 independently run events which showcased the capital’s emerging tech expertise. The capital welcomed around 40,000 local and international attendees at events throughout the week.

Zanine added: “London Technology Week was a fantastic example of how we can collaborate with partners across the industry to build and grow events. Looking ahead we are continually seeking out other opportunities for the capital. It is an exciting new approach for London and one we hope will deliver an exciting programme of activity.”

The news comes as London is crowned the most popular tourist destination in the world, by the Mastercard Global Cities Index report, putting the city ahead of Bangkok and Paris.
