London venues 'offer accommodation booking service'

London venues have begun offering accommodation booking services to those business visitors attending its events, an expert has claimed.

Ian Whiteling, joint editor in chief at Meetings Review, has revealed that the World Travel Market (WTM) has announced the service, which could become the next big trend in the events business.

It has launched a website that will allow visitors to access and search among the 50 hotels, suites and apartments in close proximity to the ExCeL London.

Among the options that attendees can use to whittle down the choices are searches based on the price, type of accommodation and name.

John Standley, the event's travel services manager, told the news provider that this aims to provide an "unparalleled service".

He said: "Not only does it include exclusive allocations and rates, but compares those rates to other accommodation suppliers' prices to make sure WTM delegates get the best deal."

For those looking at cities further north, the announcement of the design of the new Leeds venue – the Leeds Arena – has recently been revealed, which could see the number of events held in the city rise when it opens in 2012.ADNFCR-1752-ID-800030500-ADNFCR
