Luton council releases venues guide for event organisers

Sep 09, 2009 | News

Luton Borough Council has produced a guide for businesses and organisations seeking an alternative to the usual London venues for their events.

The local authority's visitor information centre has put together the handbook, which features 11 local venues for conferences, seminars, meetings or away days.

"With a great choice of accommodation, entertainment, places to eat and drink, and attractions, Luton is the perfect place to host your event," said Councillor Roy Davis, portfolio holder for regeneration at the local authority.

Among the venues featuring in the guide are Whipsnade Zoo, the Hilton and Best Western Hotels, and Putteridge Bury.

Luton has recently played host to the National Quest Sports Development Benchmarking Conference the Chiltern Pride of Herts, Beds and Bucks Awards, which was held at the Holiday Inn and John Lewis' summer corporate event, which took place at Whipsnade Zoo.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre is currently staging major energy sector event Offshore Europe 2009.
