MERLIN EVENTS HOSTS LAUNCH OF 'MY SOUTH BANK' MAGAZINE

Guests included John Langley from the National Theatre, former MP and event heavyweight Simon Hughes, MP’s Kate Hoey and Neil Coyle. They were treated to canapes from FoodbyDish inspired by flavours loved by both Londoners and visitors.  Choices included pulled pork sliders in a brioche bun with smoky sauce, mini fish and chips, chicken Caesar in baby gem lettuce and mushroom and thyme arancini. Mini strawberry cheesecakes were served as pudding.

The evening began with Andrew Cooke Acting Chief Executive of London&Partners unveiling the new Tourism Vision for London to 2025 and Nic Durston, Chief Executive of South Bank BID confirming BID’s achievements thus far.

Michael Aldridge, general manager, Merlin Events said ‘as one of a number of Merlin venues on the South Bank, we’re thrilled to be hosting the launch. The magazine will serve everyone who comes to the area and bring more energy, vitality and business. It’s great news all round. ‘

Nic Durston, Chief Executive, South Bank BID continued ‘It has been a busy third year for South Bank BID.  We have delivered on all our objectives from our STAR Card loyalty programme to My South Bank, a new neighbourhood magazine for South Bank residents, workers and students.  We have ramped up our events programme for BID Levy Payers, and continued to deliver our day-to-day work of security, cleaning, and maintenance.  South Bank BID has also campaigned for changes to the system of charging business rates, following steep rises as a result of the 2017 revaluation. We are delighted to mark these achievements with BID levy payers, stakeholders and partners at this evening’s event at the London SEA LIFE Aquarium, and thank Merlin Events for hosting us.’
