New event format for Manchester Live

Manchester Live, Marketing Manchester’s annual destination showcase, is returning to London on 9th September with a refresh which will see a new one-to-one appointment format incorporated to encourage more engaging meetings and a better quality business exchange.

The event will open with two hours of meetings from 4pm-6pm with guests being invited to make appointments with representatives from over 30 meeting and event venues and service providers from across Greater Manchester including conference centres, hotels, sports and academic venues. This will be followed by the Manchester Showcase party from 6pm-8:30pm where guests will enjoy the sounds of Manchester complimented by first-class Mancunian hospitality.

The venue has been announced as The Banking Hall, a brand new venue located in the heart of the City of London.

New partners for 2014 include All Star Lanes who have a range of private hire spaces at their Manchester venue; Central Library Manchester which reopened in March following a four-year £50 million refurbishment; Melia Hotels International who will opening the UK’s first Innside by Melia Hotel in the city in 2015; and Hallé St Peter’s, a unique space in the heart of Ancoats previously used for the hugely successful Manchester International Festival 2013 performance of Macbeth with Kenneth Branagh.

Andrew Stokes, chief executive at Marketing Manchester, commented: “I’m thrilled to announce that Manchester Live will return for its fifth outing in September. We’ve taken feedback on board from guests and partners and this year’s event will have a new look and an exciting new format aimed at facilitating more meaningful and structured meetings.

“Of course, in true Manchester style there will still be a party to thank guests for their continued support and to celebrate the best of what the city has to offer as the home of great conferences and meetings.”

Marketing Manchester will also use Manchester Live as a platform to announce the findings of the next Conference Value and Volume study.
