Radisson SAS chooses re-emerging Jersey to launch new hotel

Global hotel group Radisson SAS has opened a stylish new property on the island of Jersey called The Radisson SAS Waterfront Hotel. Situated on the marina in the capital St Helier, it is the only hotel on the island to enjoy views over the marina and walk-on access to the beach.

The new-build property, which opened on 1 November, offers195 guest rooms in a selection of the well-established Radisson SAS room styles. There are also five "Meeting Rooms":http://www.venues.org.uk/searches/meeting_rooms_venues.asp – catering for over 400 theatre-style and up to 280 banqueting – and an elegant hotel restaurant and bar with seating directly overlooking the marina. Other amenities also include flat panel LCD televisions and individual climate control in the bedrooms, state-of-the-art health facilities including fitness centre, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and treatment rooms, plus free high-speed internet access throughout the hotel for all residential guests, as is offered as standard in all Radisson SAS hotels.

"With several multi-million pound investments, Jersey is experiencing growing popularity in the meetings market with over 300 UK events each year choosing Jersey as their destination. The Radisson SAS will combine the service, expertise and space tailored to business travel and will add a new option for events in the 200 delegate market, helping to grow the UK and European markets for the Island," said Hamish Reid, general manager of the Jersey Conference Bureau.

The hotel is conveniently split between the east wing for business and events and the west wing, home to the main public and leisure areas. However, it is the location of the property that will appeal most, with the stunning marina and the historic Elizabeth Castle directly in front of the hotel and the picturesque bay to the east, the hotel is just five minutes walk from the centre of St Helier with its bustling financial district and exciting shopping scene.

“Jersey is a wonderful island, full of chic restaurants and bars, an exciting financial hub and a stylish town centre,” said Jonathan Huglin, general manager at the Hotel. “With Jersey easily accessible in under an hour’s flying time via 34 of the UK’s regional airports, including London Gatwick and London Heathrow, the new Radisson SAS Waterfront Hotel will be the perfect choice for business travellers who will be able to meet, work, celebrate and enjoy great food in a spectacular environment within 90 minutes of take off.”
