Safety first at Yarnfield Park

Safety first at Yarnfield ParkYarnfield Park, one of the UK's largest residential training and conference centres, based in Stone, Staffordshire, is offering companies a free place on its next Emergency First Aid at Work training course, which will take place during February 2015.

The training centre has partnered up with UK Training 4 You, who provide health and safety courses especially focused on daily health and safety issues and how to act safely during the events of specific health and safety incidents. The free training courses will be held on selected dates during February. Delegates will undertake an accredited level two qualification, which will be valid for three years.

Jim Williams, owner of UK Training 4 You, explained: "The emergency first aid course covers basic life saving skills, including resuscitation, the treatment of an unconscious casualty and the treatment of wounds.

"As a trainer, I use a very hands-on, practical approach. I make sure that first aiders complete the day feeling confident to use their new skills in real life situations in the workplace.

"We made the decision to partner with Yarnfield Park as its training facilities are perfect for companies with large work forces, where continuous training is needed. For example, the facility can accommodate commercial vehicles, so having 50 vans in the car park is not a problem."

Yarnfield Park has been working with UK Training 4 U for the last two years and plans to expand its range of health and safety courses to offer a greater choice for companies in the engineering, construction, utility, and telecommunication sectors.

"Thanks to our size and central location we're used as a national training centre by companies from all over the UK,” added Jane Hemmings, commercial sales manager at Yarnfield Park.

“Based in Staffordshire, we’re easily accessible via the region’s excellent transport links. Next year, we have ambitious plans to attract international companies to the UK. We have 338 bedrooms and can cater for large corporations, who have offices all over the world and need to bring their people together for training or a conference."

Yarnfield Park's free Emergency First Aid at Work training is offered to all businesses, but due to the popularity there is limited availability and places are restricted to one delegate per company. Yarnfield Park Training and Conference Centre has over 25 meeting spaces, with the largest space, the Knighton Suite, able to accommodate 450 delegates. They have top of the range AV facilities and one of the UK’s fastest dedicated free internet and Wi-Fi solutions with a dedicated 300Mbps capacity allowing 800 devices to be connected at any one time. The venue has both the AIM and Compliant Venues accreditations and is conveniently located just 10 minutes off the M6 in Staffordshire, halfway between Birmingham and Manchester.
